Nouri Rugs is a family legacy; a business passed down for four generations. Growing up in Iran, Jay was nine years old when his father and grandfather began teaching him the craft of rug making and caring for rugs, without the use of harmful chemicals.
After working in the family business throughout his childhood, Jay moved to France, where he apprenticed to a master rugmaker and studied interior design. He returned home more passionate than ever; with the dream of becoming a world wide wholesaler. His family sent him to The United States, where he opened up Nouri Rugs in the historical Old Town Pasadena, CA. As a certified international rug appraiser, interior designer who imports, not only rugs, but antiques from around the world, Jay’s attention to detail, his work ethic, integrity, and passion for his craft, has made Nouri Rugs a trusted family business and a staple in the community since 1986.
